Chemistry deals with the substances of matter and their properties and the ways in which they interact, combine, and change. In the same way, the drawings in Chemical Landscapes explore a wide range of media and surfaces and how they interact, combine, and change.

Human Nature is a play on words. Philosophers, theologians, and psychologists all attempt to describe human nature. What at first seems to be a literal interpretation of the words turns out to be a metaphor after all.

The drawings in this album are mixed media, but the majority of each drawing uses Prismacolor colored pencils.

The properties of charcoal, graphite, and carbon are perfect for studying light and dark. These materials are pliable and can be pushed to span the range of dark and light.
